California Wedding Adventure | Greensburg Wedding Planner | Joy Filled OccasionsCreating the wedding flowers

I’ve had so many questions about what I was up to out in California but I have been rather tight lipid about it all. Today I will be sharing all about my adventure and what blossomed from that trip. Are you ready?

As a few of you know, Aaron and I were on a California wedding adventure for Aaron’s brother’s wedding to his lovely bride the new Mrs Bella Jackson. This was a wedding we were to just be guests for, but for those of you who know me, I will have no such thing. I adore weddings far to much!!

We had arrived in California midday Wednesday but by Friday evening, I couldn’t contain myself any longer. I had to start doing something because I was feeling useless. Bella had planned to go to the farmers market bright and early Saturday morning, so when she asked if I would join, I gladly said yes. Now I will say that I was surprised by the more simple flowers that were there since all my florist friends have raved about the varieties and sizes of the flowers, but none the less, I had plenty to work with.

We quickly started pairing flowers together and bringing her wedding floral vision to life. Bella had 28 tall vases and 12 large round pedestals and there were plenty of flowers to fill them all. With buckets of flowers and greenery, we could hardly squeeze in the car! My only problem was that I was just there as a guest. I didn’t have my “Wedding Oops Bag” filled with magic tricks. I didn’t have my spare mini floral kit. I had traveled for our California wedding adventure with a light suitcase. Well, as light a my suitcase will ever be. hehe

Saturday afternoon rolled around and with all the arrangements to be made, I had to call in some reinforcements. My dear sister-in-law Steph and Rachel came to help bring Bella’s flowers to life. They work tirelessly with me all afternoon and by the time the rehearsal dinner rolled around we were finishing up. We might have been fashionably late but the flower arrangements were done and looked smashing!!

Caleb and Bella’s wedding morning arrived and before the California sun was to warm I decided to stop down to the reception venue area just to see where the flowers would be placed and to make sure we had enough arrangements. I had hoped I wouldn’t have to throw together a few more but when I arrived I realized the need was far beyond a few more flowers. I had arrived to find Bella’s mom scrambling to make sure all was in place before she dashed off to get ready and the groomsmen already leaving to start getting ready.

For some odd reason I always seamed to be energized by a good o’l challenge… Everyone quickly exited the scene leaving me alone with uncovered tables, around 200 unfolded napkins, not a single runner cut from the yards of lace and all the flatware and glassware yet to be placed. Everything was naked and bare and I just stood there in a panic for a minute. Needless to say it was more than I could do myself, so I called in our family yet again. While I’m still not sure how it would have all gotten done had this chain of events not happened, what matters is that it did and it looked lovely!

Sun burnt and mildly head exhausted, I snagged just a few photos before I raced off to see Caleb and Bella say “I do.”
