Growing up, every few months, I felt the need to move my room around. As I got older and started earning my own money, I started to redecorate my room every few years. A would draw up my room to as close to scale as I could and create furniture pieces too. As I started to prep for college I considered interior design as my major but moving to the city didn’t appeal to me. So I chose my second loves, graphic design and photography.
As years went by I went from designing my room decor, to my photography studio then to my own home. All the while throwing countless parties and elaborately decorating them. I truly can’t decorate without going all out. The fun of hunting down the perfect pieces, the thought that goes behind making sure it’s one of a kind and making it all feel natural. It’s all so instrumental and wonderful! Over the years, I was finding joy in decor and design.
When the decor side really started to take off was a few years back. I had been meeting with several of our Jackson Signature
Photography brides and they were continually stumped on what to do with their reception decor. They were tired of the same old traditional things and wanted to personalize things. My ears immediately perked up and wheals began to turn! After a few wedding decor and design meetings, I was hooked!
Over the years I have helped bring to life numerous wedding decor designs. There is something so wonderful about bringing to life a couple’s style, the things they love and the look they would like for their wedding. It’s simply smashing!!! So there you have a little look into how I began my decor designing. Next week, I’ll be chatting about how the floral designing came about!
