4th of July Cottage Decor | Joy Filled Occasions | Personal

After spending years celebrating the 4th of July at my grandma’s house the tradition was finally passed on to Aaron and I. So now each year we host Thanksgiving and the 4th of July. This being our second year hosting the 4th, we still had a few bugs to work out but with our added sunporch it really helped spread out the food and drinks. So go ahead, scroll down and be nosey. See this years 4th of July cottage decor.

This year we cleared the little side table by the front door and kept the plates, napkins and silverware separate to enhance the food station flow.

Just like last year, Aaron and I provided the meat and meat fixings then we asked everyone to bring a side dish or a dessert. It seams to work so much better that way. Less dishes for me and more diverse foods. I also am sure to keep a list of who is bringing what so that we don’t have tons of overlap.

I picked up the little table below for $10 at an antique shop and it’s been my favorite find. I’ve already used it for a wedding as a small guest table and now it makes the perfect drink table. Good finds for the win!

Our sunporch still isn’t quite finished but it’s slowly coming together. I’m still not totally sure what I want to place on the walls but for now the frame and wreath at least fill the space a little. Ultimately, I think I would like to add a few shelves on the left but I’m not sure yet.

A new and larger tent is also on the horizon. Using a few borrowed tents and two of our own world well but if it rained any harder than the light sprinkle, everyone would have drown. We are thinking about adding a big white tent with sizes to the Joy Filled Occasions collection this year. It could be rented out too! Hint hint!

Last but not least, our dessert table. Last year I had a few more desserts come to the party and they hardly got eaten. There is such a fine balance to making sure a party has enough dessert but not to much.
