Each year I do a holiday home tour and feature it on Jackson Signature Photography’s blog. It hit me this year that all of my decorating and floral work is truly done through Joy Filled Occasions wedding planning, so why not post it here instead. Today I’m giving you a peek into our home and some cottage Christmas decor inspiration for next year.
It’s taken a few years for me to bring red into out home around Christmas. I know, boring! Usually our home is decorated with navy and dusty blue color pops and removing those colors wasn’t something I wanted to do. However, two Christmases ago I decided to add a slight pop of red and I loved it! This year, I added a little more.
I love incorporating the fresh greens and leafless holly each year. I’m not sure the leafless holly will be making a debut for Christmas in 2018 though because of baby girl. The holly is not good for small children if ingested and once dried, it fall off easily. I might have to find a new natural red color pop. Yikes!
No post would be complete without at least one photo of our pup Duke. He matches our home decor perfectly but I promise we didn’t bring him home for that reason.
Show of hands, who loves Target??? Me! Me! Me! Last year I missed picking up these unfinished little trees and houses before they were sold out at Target. This year I saw them in the little $1-$5 section the beginning of November and I snatched them up! These cuties came all the way from a Target in Maryland. I don’t even think our local Greensburg Target carried them unfortunately.
This pretty little antique frame was a find last from Aaron and I’s wedding and yes, I do rent it out in our wedding decor collections along with all the white pitchers, clear milk bottles and much more. Yay for rental pieces that double as decor pieces.
No Christmas decor would be complete without all the cards. Do you see yours on the wall? I feel so bad thought because I tried clear labels on our Christmas card envelopes this year and several were returned to me because the labels had fallen off. If you didn’t receive your yearly card from us, I’m so sorry but I had no way of knowing who’s lost their label.
Lastly, one of my favorite spots in our home and the last part of the cottage Christmas tour, our sunporch.
This year I kept it more wintery on the porch so I didn’t have to decorate again till spring. With baby girl on the way, there is plenty to do and one less room to decorate after a month sounded like a wise idea.
I hope you all have enjoyed our little cottage Christmas home tour today. Stay turned for more posts because this momma-to-be is determined to catch-up on blog posts before baby girl arrives and the 2018 wedding planning season starts for Joy Filled Occasions.
