A once in a lifetime solar eclipse set the stage for Charlie & Crystal’s proposal day. While I brought the simple lounge area in their church to life for them with flowers and a private dinning area. Prior to their arrival, Charlie had prepared a steak dinner to be served to them by both of their best friends just before he popped the question. Though their proposal didn’t take place during the solar eclipse it still made for a unique addition to their momentous day.
A vintage table and two matching chairs. A long and flowing dusty blue runner. Such green ivy vines and soft pink mini roses with anemone flowers set the tone for this romantic musicians proposal.
A guitar ready for the soon the be groom sat waiting to play with a piano, one of the soon to be bride’s instruments to play, sat in the background.
A table set for two with little champagne flutes secretly smuggled from the bride’s hope-chest.
These two sweeties met while at a musicians training camp in Ohio almost four years ago. So what better way to propose than with a song written by the soon to be groom. As dinner was finishing, he paused a moment to play the song he had written for Crystal. Finishing the song, he sang, “I’m just going to ask you. Will you marry me?” A “yes” rung out from Crystal and the overjoyed smiles began.
Charlie and Crystal’s proposal has now been featured on The Knot’s “How He Asked” and also on “Red Oak Weddings.”
