Vendor Etiquette Tips for a Bride & Groom
Wedding planning can be oh so fun and ever so stressful. Every vendor has a different website or way of contacting them and there are so many questions to ask. Here are a few tips to make contacting each vendor a little bit nicer.
They aren’t “hired help” they are real people.
- Be sure to do your research before you reach out to a vendor. They often have websites, Facebook pages and Instagram’s that offer a valuable information that help you get to know them. Some vendors even have blogs that they regularly post on about their work and themselves.
- When you do reach out, be sure to be kind and polite. Make sure you ask them questions and tell them about your wedding. Chances are, if you’re polite with them they will be more than happy to work with you.
- By providing them with as much information as you can with you inquire they can then provide you with the best answer. If a vendor doesn’t have a contact form with Q&A, send they an email with the basics. Tell them who you are, when your date is, what your re asking them to do, why you want to work with them and any little details they make you excited about your wedding.
- REPLY. I can’t tell you how many times as a vendor people email me and then never reply. Vendors take the time to read your email, think about what you’re asking and then either create information to send you so that it’s customized to you or simply reply with the info you requested. When you reach out to a vendor they all do a happy little dance because someone thought of them but when you don’t reply or you take a really long time to reply it often frustrates them and they might not feel as though they are important and their time is valuable. So couples, please follow up. Even if you have choses a different vendor, let them know.
Remember, the nicer you are to them, the more willing they are to work with you and help you. You are excited about your wedding and they are excited at the possibility of being a part of it. They also are excited to exceed your expectations too.
