A wedding planner/photographer can’t simply throw a basic first birthday party for her one year old. That would be way to boring and basic. No no she must go overboard and make it all a little over the top. 😉
This is little Caroline’s flower themed first birthday party in all of it’s kiddo cuteness. From Caroline’s 1st month photo to her 11 month photo, each one was framed and sat atop the mantle. Yes, I posted a tub time photo too. It was just to cute! I couldn’t help myself!
The birthday girl!
I used my new Cricut Maker to create her own script wooden letters then hung them above the fireplace mantel. A small greenery swag with color pops completed the look.Â
Here is where it gets a little tricky, Caroline had two parties. She had a little friend party and a family party. Neither were big enough for all of our family or friends but we tried to squeeze as many in as we could.
Since a lot of our party guests on Saturday were smaller, her party favors were hydrangea flower snacks created with organic cheese puffs. Each little puff had a handful of the cheese puffs and was stem wrapped to look like a real flower complete with a leaf or two.
Mommy went a little overboard on the food spread too but again, this is all nothing new for me. I remember growing up and a birthday party at 3:00PM in the afternoon had cake, ice-cream, chips and pretzels. I guess I stepped it up a bit.
My sweet mother-in-law and father-in-law created a cake for Caroline each day to smash and eat. Let me tell you, they were AMAZING!!!
While I had hoped to make the mini cupcakes and macarons, I ran out of time and School House Bakery made them for me. Julie did a wonderful job and they all tasted great! I might have sampled all four options. Shhhh
The last item I created for little Caroline was her own flower backdrop to go with there flower themed first birthday party. While the eucalyptus was easy to attach, I had to sew each carnation bud on the dusty blue linen ribbon. Let’s just say it was a bit time consuming.
Duke “offered” to be the test subject for his little sister’s photos and as you can see, he was THRILLED! Ha!
